Saturday Weigh Down Did Happen

Hi everyone,

I want to give you a quick update as to how the weight loss is going.  It was almost too good to believe, but I dropped 4.4 lbs. again this week.  I have now lost 19 pounds since I started keeping a close tally of my progress, however it is a bit more than that from my highest.  I am telling you I was very happy with that!  It probably won’t be as good next week after a slice of both pumpkin pie and pecan pie today for our Thanksgiving get together.  I don’t think I was a “Hogzilla” as our daughter likes to say when one eats too much, but I did have the desert.

Ok back to the straight and narrow tomorrow!  I think I actually feel better when I eat healthy!  At least I am going to tell myself that!

I let you know next week how it goes.

So long for now,

Clara

Making Christmas Cards Using The Sponging Technique

Hello Stampers,

I hope you have had a wonderful week with family and friends!  We are so blessed to have so much!  Thanksgiving was today for our family as my husband had a breakdown with his truck and was stuck in Jackson, OH for most of the weekend.  We also had a son-in-law whom had developed a bad case of pink-eye so it just made sense for us to wait.  I assure you I have had plenty to eat today.

As for stamping this week I decided to do some sponging and masking to create a card with stamps, so this is what I came up with for our featured card.  I hope you like it.  I fell in love with the technique after I saw Bibi Cameron do a Christmas card a few years ago using this technique.  Please take a look at my video to see exactly how I made this card.  Seeing is just easier than reading about it.

With Christmas just around the corner it is time to get the cards done and the shopping too!  Oh, and then there is the baking and decorating.  Do you feel the need to hurry?  I sure do.

Maybe a few minutes to make cards is just what we need to relax!  Anyway, have a great week and I hope to be back in about a week.

Saturday Weigh In

Hey fellow strugglers,

I hope you have been having a good week.  It seems that I had a little trouble keeping track of what I ate this week, even though I have been trying to make wise choices.  Sometimes it is a bit difficult to know or find the calorie count of homemade items, but I am still trying.  Taking this into consideration I was thrilled to find out that I had lost 4.2 pounds.  That is my best week since I have been keeping a close tally on my eating.  Hurrah, hurrah!  Prayer and submission to what is good for me does work!  I hope that I am learning to be more discriminating in the food I choose and if I do choose something that is dessert or not to great for me, I am limiting it to a small serving by the grace of God.  With Thanksgiving this week, time will tell if I can stay the course.

Soo…. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Hi Stampers,

Hope you have been doing well.  Maybe you have had some time to stamp this week.  As you can see from the picture,  I have been working on a tag and box as well as the card.  The card is very simple but I wanted to show that you can use one piece of DSP (designers series paper) for a card front and tag.  This little box plus the tags make a wonderful little gift for a friend or teacher.  Most anyone would appreciate this gift and it doesn’t have to be Christmas oriented.  Put a flower on your box and add all the same kind of tags or a variety.  I will show you how to make the box in a separate posting.

Anyway, I hope you have a nice Thanksgiving!  My daughter came today and we made pies and baked a turkey to get a head start on Thanksgiving.  Our daughter -in- law is bringing other food dishes on Thanksgiving Day!   I am sure we will have more than we need.  Blessings to you and your family!

Weigh Down Update

Hello fellow strugglers,

I am a couple days late with the weigh in update, but I did do it on Saturday as usual.  This week I was down 1.6 lbs. for a total of 10.4 lbs.  For me every tenth counts.  I had started cutting back before I started keeping a close record and I guess the easy pounds came off at first.  From my high I lost about another ten pounds, but they came off so much easier than they have been since I started recording them.  I know I faltered a little at the family get together, but not too bad.  With Thanksgiving just ahead, I must keep my eye on the prize as my son would tell me!  It may be tenth by tenth, but I am going to stay with it this time.   I am so tired of carrying around an extra person all the time!

It is my hope that someone will read this and be encouraged to chip away those pounds to better health.  Maybe we can encourage one another!  After all the time is going to pass anyway!
