You Always Deliver Gift Card Holder

Hello Everyone,

Hurray we got rain in NC today!  It was a good day even though a bit cloudy and dark.  We needed rain so badly.

I am a little late getting this online as I have had back pain this week and it was a bit difficult doing my work.  You don’t need a medical report, but I will tell you I have to have a MRI on Friday and the doctor is waiting to get that report before he treats my back so it may be touch and go this week.  I will endeavor to get another set of cards, but if I am late or don’t get it done, you will know why.  I’ll do my best.

As for our project today I used this cute little delivery man to make a gift card holder and some cards as well.   The video will show you the cards I made.  Hope this is something that you will be able to use as the holiday season approaches or just for a birthday.  Sometimes it is just difficult to know what kind of gift to give, but most people can use a gift card.

I’ll be back soon,

Clara

The Turtle Weigh Down

Ok folks here is the low down on the weight loss this week.  I started this Sunday Oct. 6, 2019 and it has been a struggle.  After going to the supermarket and buying fruits & vegetables the first thing that happened was my husband was given two cases of donuts that were slightly damaged when they were loaded on his truck.  Really the only thing damaged was the box, so I now have a freezer with lots of donuts in it.  We gave some away, but they are nice to have available, if I can leave them alone.  So far so good on that front.  Mid week I received a very thoughtful gift of fudge as a token of appreciation for a few cards I gave to a friend of mine.  She sent me eight different kinds of delicious fudge!  Soo..  I carefully cut slivers of all the flavors just to taste.  Of course it was delicious!  I weighed the fudge and figured it into my eating plan and put the rest in the freezer for my husband who loves sweets.  I have actually enjoyed eating better when my tendency is to, do what I call scrounging around for something that takes no effort.  Friday came and I was beginning to wear down.  My commitment was beginning to waver and sure enough I gave in, just to be so mad at myself.  It was ice cream in the freezer, that I had left before I decided to challenge myself to a healthier life style, that did me in.  Then a tiny taste of fudge and my husband brought home the first egg nog of the season, so I had to have half of a small glass of that too.  Does anything have more calories than egg nog?  My trade off for the evening was I skipped my evening meal.  Maybe that would help!  Nevertheless I got on the scales this morning and I had lost 1.4 lbs.  Not as much as I had hope for, but it is better than being up that much.  So I am thankful to the good Lord that at least I lost something.  After praying and asking for His help again I am back on track today.  Only healthy food, in reasonable amounts to fit into a healthy lifestyle change for me.  No gimmicks, no special diet, just healthy calorie controlled foods to hopefully improve my over all well being.  Check back next week for an update!

Winter Woods Christmas Card

Hi Everyone,

Hope you have had a great week!  Mine has been pretty good.  Today my featured card is made from the Winter Woods Stamp Set.  This set is in our annual catalog.  Last year I made my favorite Christmas card of the year from this set.  At this time last year, I had not done any videos so I missed and opportunity to show it to you last year, but the set is still a great one to use.  Using the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter really makes the card stand out.  If you don’t know how to get this effect it is really easy using some Sizzix adhesive sheets.  Unfortunately Stampin’ UP quit selling these, but you can get them at Amazon.  I also made a couple of birthday cards using a sponging and masking technique.  If you are interested in learning how to do this technique send me an e-mail to  sclara965@gmail.com  or cmshore.1@icloud.com.

Pine Tree Christmas Card

Hi Everyone,

Wow look what you can do with a Pine Tree Punch, The Heirloom Die and Embossing Folder and some pretty paper.  I have really enjoyed using this cute little punch and I think you will too.  This card is absolutely a true Christmas card with the Shaded Spruce and Real Red.  The Wrapped in Plaid DSP is so pretty.  There are all kinds of plaids, pine cones, and holly designs.  I really do like this 6″ x  6″ pack of pure Christmas colors!

OK Christmas is coming, and not only does that mean making cards, but that means goodies galore!  I have over indulged on such things to many times, Christmas or not, soo… I am making a commitment to lose some weight.  We are not talking 5 or 10 pounds!  No I have a monumental task ahead of me.  It is so big, I don’t even want to think about how much I have to lose just to be healthy!  No I am not a diabetic nor do I have any really serious health issue except mobility is very difficult and I do have back issues.  Part of my weight problem is due to the back problem, but my back would be better if I could get the weight off, so it is a vicious cycle.  If anyone out there has a problem like me, maybe you would like to join me on my journey.  I will not give any medical advice because I would not know what would help you, so get good info from your doctor.  This is intended to be an accountability friendship.  I figure if I have to report to you my “stampin friends”, then just maybe I will try a bit harder.  If you want to join, then leave me a comment.  I find when I work on my cards I don’t think about food, so it is a win,  win!  Tomorrow morning is weigh in day and when I get back to you next week,  I will let you know how it is going!

Happy Stampin,

Clara

Gleaming Bundle Christmas Card

Hi everyone,

Well we are a week closer to Christmas and it seems like it comes faster every year.  I for one love having the option to shop online for my gifts.  If you have a stamper or a wanna be a stamper in your family, you might find something in our yearly catalog that would be perfect for that person.

This week for me has been a busy one.  My little guy as I call him (grandson that is 2 1/2+) has been sick.  He usually goes to preschool in the morning, but he hasn’t been able to go this week.  Thankfully the yucky cold is nearly gone and he is feeling much better.  I am sure  that anyone with children or grandchildren knows how easy it is for them to catch something and then they share.  So far mama and me have escaped whatever it was.

As. you can see, I have a new Christmas card up.   I really do like that Brightly Gleaming Paper pack.  It has shine for you if you like that, which I do, and it has stripes, etc. that are not quite as flashy and they are beautiful too.  As you can see I have some of both on the card above.   I used the Gleaming Bundle to make the above card and you can find all the information you need to make it at the links above.

The Good Lord willing, I will be back next week with something new to show you.  So for now happy stamping!
