More Christmas Cards

Hi everyone,

Running a little late this week, but I am here now! We can tell the holidays are upon us as we have already had a family gathering this past Saturday. My husbands father turns 93 in a couple days and we always have a birthday/ Thanksgiving get-to-gether at the same time. In addition to that I met with a surgeon about my back issues this week and surgery is on the calendar for Dec. 23. This was the option for the rest of this year and since I already met my deductibles on insurance we wanted to take care of it before the end of this year.  X-rays showed that I have a vertebra that moves about 1/2″ out of place when I lean forward as well as a host of other things related to wear and tear of my back. I appreciate any prayers for good surgical results!

Now to card making! As the days slip away toward Christmas I thought it wouldn’t hurt to do a few more Christmas cards this week. I really liked how the colors complemented each other in  this card.   The Shaded Spruce and Mint Macaron are two of my favorite colors.

Weigh Down Day

Hi everyone,

Ok I am here to report in since it has been two weeks. I just didn’t do any posts last week because of my mothers passing. But the time comes to get back on track and live life moving forward. Well I thought I knew which direction I was supposed to go in, but I think I got a bit confused. Last week I lost .8 of a pound. Unfortunately I began to like the scenery and stepped back .6 pound this week. Grand total is 8.8 lbs. lost thus far, but I am not quitting. Since I am definitely an emotional eater, I suppose that really isn’t too bad. This hasn’t been a great two weeks for weight loss, however I haven’t lost much ground either. I am going to say less than a pound isn’t too bad all things considered.

Today I have been careful to track every bite and that is very important for me. One thing I notice is that because I weigh in the morning in my birthday suite, my weight fluctuates a pound or two all week. So I report how ever it falls on Saturday morning up or down. My phone and app is my friend in this endeavor and I hope to have a better report next week.

Remember you are always welcome to come along and make comments!

Hi Stampers,

I’m glad to be back with a set of cards this week!  Thanks to all of you for your condolences over the last week.  All things considered every thing went quite well and mama is with Jesus and the rest of the family so I know she is feeling much better.

This week is all about Christmas cards, but not all from the same set.  The card above is made from the Toile Christmas bundle and this bundle has gotten by far the most interest this year.  This card is a new one out of the same set and it may be my favorite or at least close to it.  I hope you will like it as well.  As for the other cards that  I made this week, take a look at the  video for new ideas from the former set I have used.  It is fun to use some things from one set and some from another.  You might be surprised as to how easy it is to even cross holidays.  Take a look and see what you think!

One new item to the supply list above is the New paper trimmer.  It is now available to order.  I understands it cuts nicely.

The Christmas Suite is available to order.  It is beautiful with a gorgeous rose as a centerpiece.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week and the good Lord willing I will be back with some more cards.

No Video This Week

Hi everyone,

For those of you that check my blog, I wanted to let you know that I will not be doing the usual card of the week nor video.  My mother passed yesterday morning after a long struggle with Alzheimers.  Thankfully she was only in the bed a few days and went home to Jesus, my father and brother that she longed to see again.  Even though loss is never easy, it was a great mercy for mom to go on to heaven.

Hopefully I will be back on track next week.

Weekly Weigh Down Update

Hello everyone,

I thought I had a post up, but it disappeared.  I shall try again to give you my weekly update.  Thanks to the good Lords help, I have lost 2.8 lbs. this week for a total of 8.6 over the last four weeks.  I am happy because my average is 2 lbs. a week and that is what I had hoped for, so Hurrah!

This is what I have learned.  I am mindful of what I am eating by keeping track of my food consumption.  No more mindless eating which I am prone to do.  You know the old saying about being on the “See Food Diet”,  I see it I eat it.  Well that diet has to go.  Part of my strategy is to eat regularly and make healthy choices.  I also keep track of my calorie intake and that is about it.

Come and join us that struggle, you are welcome.

I’ll be back next week.
